The year of 2016 at Flatdogs flew by for Jamie and I and after a number of trips back home the word started to spread with our friends and family about how we think Flatdogs Camp is truly great value for money and the area offers sensational wildlife experiences topped off with amazing Victoria Falls. So with us staying for 2017 this gave them an opportunity to come and visit Zambia with us to pamper them and we think there was a fascination about what exactly our life was like in this remote rural bush camp in South Africa.

The first couple to visit was my very good friend Fiona and her husband Ron who worked at Bench International and was the person who booked our trip to the South Luangwa back in 2007. The day of April 29, 2017 finally arrived when they arrived in camp and I was extremely excited to have greet them into camp. We had a wonderful time showing off our wonderful Flatdogs Camp to them both as they own and operate an Africa travel company.

Next was the Groundwater family – David, Queen Deidre (as she lovingly became known in camp) their daughter Peta and granddaughter Charlotte (12 yrs old). They stayed in the stunning Crocs Nest for 5 nights from May 19 to 24, 2017. I was jumping out of my skin with excitement the day they arrived and surreal is the perfect word to describe how I felt giving a cuddle to David as he jumped out of the minivan in camp. The next 5 days were absolutely wonderful for all of us and Queen Deidre truly loved the Africa experience. She is a lover of Paris and all things French though the look on her face as she drove out in the front seat of the safari vehicle with her royal wave was enough to confirm she was very happy.

Groundwater’s booked their trip 9 months prior though the next couple Julia and Greg booked only 3 months prior and due to commitments ended up in camp during the Groundwater’s stay – so the Aussie’s numbers are growing in camp with Bobby from Taronga Zoo and Charlie and Sam from Wollongong all in camp.

Staying from May 21 – 27 6 nights was Julia (Elanora Squash friend) and her partner Greg. WOW what a sensational safari holiday these 2 had with Jonathan our guide. It just got better every drive! We absolutely loved having them here and thank them for trusting us on how wonderful Flatdogs and the South Luangwa National Park are with the bonus of us to love and pamper them in camp.
