It would seem Jamie and I have been selling Flatdogs very well back home to our friends and often people have dreamed of going to Africa though did not know where to start. So along came Camp Managers Jamie and Wendy at value for money Flatdogs and followed us were lots of our friends.

Jamie was invited to his Turramurra Primary School 40 year reunion via Facebook July 2016 which led him to connecting with heaps of friends from school. Unfortunately we were unable to attend the actual reunion in November though one of his school friends Tim Keirle connected and they started reminiscing about “the good old days”. They had not seen each other for over 28 years so on our visit to my sister Jenny who lives at Alstonville we called in for morning tea to Tim and his family who lives less than 10 minutes drive from Jenny’s on a stunning farm lover looking Byron Bay. After a yummy cake and looking through 100’s of photos of Flatdogs and the wildlife we set off to visit Jess and her family in Queensland. Unknown to us Tim and Lisa and their 4 children booked 5 nights in the Flatdogs Camp Crocs Nest our luxury family tent with its own private swimming pool which is ideal for big family groups. They stayed 18 – 23 May and had the most sensational time. While they were here I arranged with Nicholas our night watchman to take them to a traditional visit. Unknown to us on the day it turns out it was Levison one of other night watchman’s village and it was extremely traditional. We danced with all the kids, played touch football, handed out lots of gifts the Keirle family had gathered and had a big tour of village life in rural Zambia. Wow what a memory for the family and us.

Then came along Kelly and Dave our buddies from Sydney. Jamie and I have known Kelly for over 25 years through squash and our families have a deep and cherished friendship.

Kel and Dave met up with us at one of Balmain Hotel reunions when we were back in Sydney and were very excited at the thought of visiting us to see what our life was like in Zambia and go on safari at Flatdogs. They arrived 28 June and stayed 7 whole amazing nights with us.

This has been the hardest blog to put into words due to Kel and I having such a huge history. I have the greatest respect and love for Kel and now married to Dave we have so much fun with these two friends. Kel and Dave are moving to Chicago 6 weeks after they left us at Flatdogs for 3 years so when the moment came to say goodbye and they drove out dried my eyes out……

I truly care and love Kel so much and Jamie and to ease the pain I have booked our trip to visit these 2 friends in Chicago September 3, 2018 for 3 weeks. YEH!!!

Thanks to all our trusting friends for visiting us at our home in Mfuwe – you have made our stay at Flatdogs so much more exciting having you visit.
